I’ve been playing guitar for 13 years, both at home and professionally. In 2012 I attended London’s Rose Bruford College, where I honed my craft on guitar (and bass guitar), graduating with a BA (Hons.) in Actor-Musicianship in 2015. Since graduating, I have worked professionally as an actor-musician, performing in theatres around the UK and in London, alongside many other great musicians and picking up invaluable musical knowledge along the way.
I have experience teaching students of all ages and competencies, so I can adapt to your needs! I would be looking to first develop fundamental techniques on guitar, setting you up with solid foundations before progressing at a steady pace. Most importantly, making sure you have fun in each and every lesson, as this is what music-making is all about!
My musical influences lie in jazz and blues, as this is what I grew up listening to. Some of the guitarists I have been most influenced by include: Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B King, Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Django Reindhart and Prince. However, I am by no means bound to these styles as I am passionate about most musical genres, so whatever you’d like to play – we can play it!
Some areas that you might like to cover that I have particular expertise in are:
– Basic/Intermediate/Advanced Chords
– Soloing/Lead Guitar
– Rhythm Guitar
– Music Theory/Jazz concepts
Of course, you may be a complete novice just looking to get to grips with the basics of guitar – I can help with that too! Anything from very basic to intermediate playing, I can guide you through key techniques at concepts your own pace. Right from learning your first chord to your seventieth solo!
I am based in Surbiton, South West London, and can travel to your home to teach, depending on the distance. Alternatively, you are welcome to come to my home in Surbiton for lessons. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions!
